The Severity of Vaginismus can vary depending
on the spasm of the vaginial muscles, generally the severity
of vaginismus can present in following ways :
- Woman doesn’t allow any kind of penetration into
the vagina.
- Woman doesn’t allow partner even to touch thighs
or surrounding area of vagina
.
- Woman allows to touch thighs but not surrounding area
of vagina.
- Woman allows to touch outer surface of vagina i.e. labia
majora & clitoris.
- Woman can insert her own single finger with or without
pain but She does not allow anything else to be inserted.
- Woman can insert her own two fingers with or without
pain. She does not allow anything else to be inserted.
- Woman allows partner to insert one finger with or without
pain. She does not allow for intercourse
.
- Woman allow partner to insert two fingers with or without
pain. She does not allow for intercourses
.
- Woman can insert a tampon but not allow intercourse
.
- Woman can’t undergo pelvic examination by a doctor
.
- Woman can undergo pelvic examination by a doctor but
only with extreme pain, shout or resistance or all.
- Woman allows pelvic examination by a doctor with discomfort
but does not allow partner for intercourse.
- Woman allows partner to make an attempt for intercourse
but the moment he touches the vagina either by finger
or penis, she pushes him away or moves upwards or her
legs comes closer or her thighs becomes very stiff &
close or she just move her body sideways.
- Woman allows partner to penetrate but only with great
pain.
