Vaginismus is a condition where the muscles that surrounds vagina, undergoes into involuntary spasm making entry of penis or finger or any other object almost impossible and extremely painful.

In a normal woman, the vaginal muscles are under voluntary control. But in vaginismus, these muscles undergo involuntary control.

Symptoms of Vaginismus –

Symptoms of vaginismus may even start while thinking or talk about intercourse or undergoing pelvic / gynaecolgical examination or using a tampon or touch on vagina by self or partner.One may not come to know about vaginismus, unless a woman tries to insert a finger or tampon or attempts for pelvic examination or sexual intercourse.
